West Shore RCMP have released this sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault on April 14, 2019.

West Shore RCMP have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault in April 2019.

Police said the sexual assault occurred on April 14, 2019, near the 300 block of Cooper Road on the Songhees First Nation. According to police, a 22-year-old woman was walking home from a party at approximately 3 a.m. when she was sexually assaulted by a man.

“Thus far the West Shore RCMP Serious Crimes Unit has followed up on many leads and avenues of investigation. We are now seeking the public’s assistance in hopes that someone will recognize and identify the male suspect, Cpl. Barrow of the West Shore RCMP Serious Crimes Unit said in a statement.

The suspect is described by police as an Indigenous man in his early 20s with dark brown/black hair, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds with an average build.
