A stretch of West Saanich Road has been closed to traffic in both directions after a car veered off the route and struck a power pole.
Central Saanich Police said at around 4:50 p.m. that first responders were at the scene of the crash in the 7800-block of West Saanich Road.
There was no immediate word on whether the driver was injured.
Drivers are being asked to find alternate routes around the crash, just north of Brentwood Bay.
The crash comes as much of the South Island remains blanketed under a thick layer of snow following a winter storm earlier this week.
This is a developing story. More to come.
