Victoria’s Jimbo the Drag Clown, the latest RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner, has announced a months-long North American tour with more than 50 stops to kick off this winter and culminate on Vancouver Island.
“Jimbo’s Drag Circus” will see Jimbo, 40, take North American stages starting Feb. 29, 2024 in Royal Oak, Michigan, before visiting other venues in places like New York, New York, Toronto, Ont. and Calgary, Alta., with a final stop in Victoria on June 12.
“Behold the mystifying wonders and bizarre talents of JIMBOS Drag Circus! Coming to a town near you!” said Jimbo in an Instagram post, which included a link to buy tickets after they went on sale Friday.
Ticket outlet AXS calls the upcoming tour “the weirdest show on earth” and “an evening of outrageous characters and adult humour starring Canada’s own Jimbo from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8 and Canada’s Drag Race.”
Jimbo, originally from London, Ont., moved to Victoria after university to pursue a career as a costume and production designer — before gracing television screens globally in U.S., U.K. and Canada-based drag TV series.
On July 21, Jimbo was crowned the winner of the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars after making it through 10 elimination rounds and winning several challenges, including in episodes 2, 4, 5 and 9. The winner of this series, which is filmed in the U.S., takes home $200,000.
“Thank you everyone that’s helped me get here, this takes so many people,” said Jimbo after the win. “Oh my god. I’m in shock. I’m like shaking.”
Previously, Jimbo competed on the first season of Canada’s Drag Race, coming in fourth, and RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World, placing seventh.
