Remy Marthaller, 6, is a Victoria local making an appearance on the second season of a Netflix show.

A Victoria first-grader is adding another acting credit to her resume, as she appears in the Netflix show, Firefly Lane.

Remy Marthaller, 6, has a few acting credits to her name, and now she is making an appearance in the second season of the show as Young Marah.

It is a show about the friendship between two women, Tully Hart (played by Katherine Heigl) and Kate Mularkey (played by Sarah Chalke), starting as teens and into adulthood.

Marthaller plays Chalke’s daughter, making her appearance in episode four, then in flashback and dream-sequences through the rest of the season.

She tells CHEK News she enjoyed playing the role and being on set.

“It was really fun having to change costumes, and having to do it all over again,” Marthaller said.

In the episode, Marthaller says her character wanders off in a market and everyone starts looking for her. She says this was her favourite part.

“Because it was like I was invisible, and I was actually just hiding behind a tent,” Marthaller said.

Recently, Marthaller was also nominated for five Joey Awards, and won one.

The Joey Awards is a gala for young Canadian performers.

Marthaller was awarded for Best Featured Performer Portraying a Female in a TV Movie, for her role in Joy for Christmas.

While this is the latest release for the young star, 2023 is also shaping up to be a busy year, with six titles expecting to be released, including season 10 of Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart, Wattpad’s feature Float, The Island Between the Tides, and Seagrass.
