A downtown Victoria restaurant has fired an employee accused of committing sexually violent crimes against numerous women.

It comes after a handful of posts on social media accused the now-former employee of sexual assault and rape.

Chuck’s Burger Bar said on Facebook Monday that the employee was terminated after management became aware of social media posts.

“Although the former employee denies the allegations, Chuck’s Burger has nonetheless terminated all relations with this person and is now engaged in a thorough investigation,” the Facebook post reads.

The Yates Street restaurant also said they were “fully surprised” by the allegations but are taking them seriously.

“The allegations against this former staff member are very serious, completely unacceptable, and we will be fully cooperating with the authorities with any investigation,” the restaurant said.

Victoria Police have issued a statement saying they are aware of the social media posts.

There have been no charges to this point stemming from the allegations.

We thank you for the opportunity to address these serious allegations against a former employee of Chuck’s Burger Bar….
