Paris is known as the City of Love, but analysis suggests there are plenty of hungry romantics in Victoria.

OpenTable, an online restaurant reservations provider, has ranked Victoria as the fourth most romantic dining city in Canada, with the highest ranking in B.C.

The index is based on the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic” from OpenTable diner reviews, the percentage of tables seated for two and the percentage of people who dined out on Valentine’s Day in 2017.

Two Greater Victoria establishments, The Dining Room at Butchart Gardens and Saveur Restaurant on Herald Street, also made the top 100 list of romantic restaurants in the country based on 500,000 diner reviews.

No other Vancouver Island restaurant made the top 100 list.

Niagara, Ontario, the honeymoon capital, is ranked as Canada’s most romantic city, with the region boasting 12 of the top 100 most romantic restaurants.

Banff and Edmonton, Alberta, were both ranked ahead of Victoria.

Vancouver is the only other top-10 city in Canada from B.C., ranked tenth.
