Victoria Police say they are investigating a “sudden death” in Beacon Hill Park, which took place on Wednesday morning.

Police say that patrol officers were called to the south side of the park shortly after 6 a.m. for a report of an unresponsive woman.

VicPD responded to the scene, along with BC Emergency Health Services paramedics.

Police say despite CPR being provided to the woman, she was confirmed to be deceased.

Traffic on Dallas Road, between Cook and Douglas streets, was temporarily closed while the investigation took place.

VicPD says investigators are looking to speak with anyone who was walking or travelling on Dallas Road, between Cook and Douglas Streets, between midnight and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Police add officers are particularly interested in dashcam footage from anyone that was driving in the area during that time.

The BC Coroners Service told CHEK News that it had also attended the scene.

“As we are early in the investigation to determine the facts regarding the incident, we are unable to provide further information,” the coroners service told CHEK.

Police note the file is still under investigation.

This is a developing story and will be updated once more information is learned.
