Victoria police arrest suspect in connection with sexual assaults on BC Transit busses

Victoria police say they have arrested a man and recommended a charge of sexual assault, in connection with incidents that took place on B.C. Transit busses.

Police began investigating after a young woman came forward earlier this week and reported her interaction with the man on a bus.

Her report of the incident was shared online, prompting several other young women to come forward to share similar incidents.

Coordination with B.C. Transit, Saanich Police and Westshore RCMP resulted in the suspect being located and arrested.

He was released on telebail under conditions, including being banned from B.C. Transit busses and bus stops.

Police say further information will be released in the coming days.
