The Victoria Police Department has arrested one man and seized two replica firearms after receiving reports the suspect was shooting a pellet gun from an apartment window.

The incident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, when patrol officers responded to the 900-block of Pandora Avenue.

Police say they received a report that a man had been firing a pellet gun at passing vehicles from the window of a suite in a multi-unit residential building.

When officers arrived on the scene, they were able to quickly locate the suspect’s suite, with the man surrendering to police without further incident.

Upon further investigation, officers learned that the suspect did not strike a vehicle or person, and no one was injured during the incident.

Officers seized two replica firearms and ammunition from within the suspect’s suite.

The suspect was transported to cells at VicPD where he was later released with a court date and conditions. The man faced recommended charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to contact the VicPD non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654, extension 1.
