Victoria man looks to make world’s biggest Ukrainian flower flag

Sahasi Erven, flower caretaker for the Oneness Heart Park, has recently decided to direct his passion for flowers into a bigger cause.

He’s looking to build the largest Ukrainian flag of flowers in the world after hearing about the innocent lives lost in Ukraine.

“The inner message in my heart was make the flag, make the world’s biggest flag. Try and inspire people, try to do something wonderful,” said Erven.

He said this flag of flowers will be 10 meters high and 30 meters wide, and hopes it will have 100,000 pots. Erven’s goal with the flag flower is to potentially inspire a ceasefire as the war continues with no end in sight.

“You never know, because everything else isn’t working. The war is going on, so let’s just try something innovative. Something where that feeling can just spread along,” said Erven.

Erven’s Ukrainian flower flag will be unveiled at Beacon Hill Park on July 15, and will be on display until the 24.
