A 27-year-old Victoria man has been charged in the robbery of a downtown business that ended in a stabbing.

Victoria police say the man reportedly stole money from a store in the 1500-block of Vancouver Street on Monday shortly after 12 p.m. When he was confronted, police say he allegedly stabbed a staff member with a knife, then fled from the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
