Victoria born and raised wrestler debuting on Wrestlemania this Sunday

Chelsea Green was born and raised in Victoria, and this weekend she is set to debut at one of wrestling’s biggest events, WrestleMania, in Los Angeles.

Chelsea’s journey into the ring began when she decided to spend her life savings on wrestling school rather than a down payment on a townhouse.

Years later, it’s proven to be a life-altering decision that’s paid off.

Her WrestleMania journey all started at a school in Calgary, trained by Canadian wrestling legend Lance Storm. After paying her dues in minor league circuits, her big break came when she was cast on a WWE reality show.

Chelsea Green told CHEK News that she is ready to perform her best and seize the opportunity.

“It just feels absolutely surreal. It’s not just surreal to be here in L.A. and at Wrestlemania, but it’s surreal to be representing Canada and Vancouver Island.”

Chelsea’s mother, Sally Green is looking forward to seeing her daughter on the big screen but admits sometimes she is a little worried about the physical damage that can happen to the body when wrestlers are in the ring.

“I get a little bit more nervous with her being at a higher level, even though this is probably when I shouldn’t be as nervous because they are way more experienced” says Sally Green.

Chelsea Green wants everyone in her hometown to know that when she goes out into the ring this Sunday, she is not just wrestling for herself and her family but also for the entirety of Vancouver Island, British Columbia & Canada.

WrestleMania is hosted this year in Los Angeles, California at the SoFi stadium.  The blockbuster event starts this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and runs until Sunday night.
