VicPD searching for ‘irate’ woman who spat on BC Transit operator

The Victoria Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who became irate while riding the bus and spat on a BC Transit operator.

VicPD is referring to the incident, which took place back on October 29, as a “spitting assault.”

According to police, they received a report from the BC Transit operator just after 6:30 p.m.

In the filed report, police say that the bus driver had to make a sudden stop when they were cut off by a vehicle.

A young woman, who was sitting at the front of the bus, fell from her seat as a result of the sudden stop. In the wake of falling from her seat, she became irate with the BC Transit operator.

The woman approached the operator, yelled at them, proceeded to pull on the plexiglass barrier and spat on the driver.

The report says she fled the bus southbound on Quadra Street.

Police note that the Transit operator was not physically injured in the incident.

The young woman is described as standing five feet, four inches tall with a slender build. She has medium-coloured long hair and was wearing a light grey sweatshirt and dark leggings at the time of the spitting assault.
