VI Integrated Major Crime Unit and BC Coroners Service investigating Salt Spring Island incident

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating an incident at a home on Salt Spring Island.

Its reported that emergency crews responded to reports of an assault over the noon hour and that police tape now surrounds a home in the 100-block of Maliview Drive.

The Coroners Service confirms it is investigating but is passing all requests for information to the VIIMCU.

Tammy Douglas of the RCMP confirmed that members were on scene but offered no further details except to say that there is no danger to the public.
