The two people who were found dead in an Oak Bay apartment on Christmas Day were aged four and six, authorities said Tuesday.
On Monday, at around 5 p.m., Oak Bay police were notified and searched the residence near the corner of Beach Drive and Goodwin Street in Oak Bay.
Officers discovered the children’s bodies and an injured man.
?It was shocking. It was a quiet night I was doing my laundry of all things on Christmas and when I went down to the main floor I wasn?t allowed in,” Haro building resident Chris-Ann Lake said.
Police said the injured man has been taken to hospital but his condition and relationship to the children is unknown.
Authorities add they are not seeking further suspects.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has been called in to take over the investigation.
Investigators are expected to be at the scene for the remainder of the week.
