Two sent to hospital after crash at Highway 17 and Beacon Avenue

RCMP say two people were taken to hospital Friday after a collision at Highway 17 and Beacon Avenue.

The crash happened at around 4 p.m. According to Sidney/North Saanich RCMP, one person sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Sidney-North Saanich RCMP said Highway 17 was blocked northbound at Beacon Avenue (Exit 28 in Sidney).

There was a detour via McTavish Road, while Beacon was closed in the area in both direction.

The scene was cleared around 8 p.m.

There’s no word on what caused the crash.
