Two men have been arrested in connection to a break and enter and an assault with a weapon in Saanich Sunday morning.

Saanich police say they responded to a report of a male who forced his way into a home in the 700 Block of Paskin Way around 9:30 a.m. and assaulted the victim with a weapon and stole items.

An investigation led police to a home in the 4100 Block of Barrington Road, and the 32 and 42-year-old men are now in custody.

Various charges including assault with a weapon, break and enter, and theft are being considered. The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team was also called in to conduct the arrest.

The victim suffered no injuries during the incident.

Police say there is no threat to the public and that all parties involved are known to each other. Saanich Police Detective Division with their forensic identification section are conducting the ongoing investigation.

Saanich police add that the incident is different from an incident in Saanich on Carey Road.
