Victoria police have arrested two men after finding a loaded handgun, replica firearm and fentanyl during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically in the 2900-block of Douglas Street just after midnight on April 18 and pulled the vehicle over.

Police found what turned out to be a replica handgun on the floor of the vehicle, resulting in the arrest and search of the occupants.

While searching the occupants, officers also found a loaded 9mm handgun on one of the men in a shoulder holster as well as located and seized multiple drugs including rock cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl.

One of the men faces eight recommended charges related to firearms possession, drug trafficking, and failing to abide by court-ordered conditions.

The second man was released but is pending further investigation.

Victoria Police is asking the public to call the VicPD Report Desk if they have any more information related to the incident.
