A stretch of the Island Highway between Deep Bay and Fanny Bay will be closed as of Monday for more than a month while a culvert is replaced.
Mainroad North Island Contracting says Highway 19a will be closed at Cook Creek Bridge to 200 meters south of the Rosewall Creek Bridge.
The closure is to allow for crews to replace a culvert at McNaughton Creek.
The work is expected to begin on Monday, August 12 and continue through Friday, September 20.
Mainroad says a detour will be available but drivers can expect delays.
