Some sunshine Thursday, showers Friday, then back to sun for weekend

Vancouver Islanders continue to benefit from a weak ridge of high pressure over B.C.’s south coast.

Mainly sunny skies today will lead to increasing cloud overnight, and mainly cloudy skies Thursday morning.

But watch for those clouds to clear by noon, bringing afternoon sunny breaks to most regions, and highs around 8 or 9 C.

Rain returns Friday, but the system will move through quickly, and sunshine is expected to return for the weekend.
