Environment Canada has reinstated a special air quality advisory for all of Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.

The bulletin was pulled yesterday afternoon but was reissued Saturday morning by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy along with Island Health due to a change in weather conditions.

The bulletin was put in effect last Tuesday due to wildfire smoke from the B.C. Interior, Washington state and Oregon.

The smoke has the potential to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.

Those with respiratory issues, young children and the elderly are being advised to take extra precaution when heading outside.
