The massive ridge of high pressure over southern B.C. continues to build, but complicating the temperature forecasts is the presence of wildfire smoke from the interior of the province.
The smoke inhibits the transmission of sunlight and has slightly lowered some daytime temperatures so that the anticipated heatwave has not happened for some areas.
Temperatures across the Island could range from the upper 20s into the low 30s for the next few days.
