A man is recovering from his injuries after being stabbed by a stranger near the intersection of Fort and Moss in the early hours of Sunday morning.

VicPD say they were called to Royal Jubilee Hospital just before 3 a.m. Sunday for a report that a man had been stabbed and was seeking medical care.

His injuries were non-life threatening.

The victim and a friend told police that they had been skateboarding eastbound on Fort when they became separated.

The victim says he was then attacked by a man unknown to him and stabbed. He describes the assailant as a Filipino male.

He says he was able to push his attacker to the ground and flee to his friend’s home in the 1400-block of Fort.

He told police that a couple he did not know let him into the building, he was then taken to hospital.

VicPD investigators say they are looking to speak with the couple who let the victim into the building, as well as any other witnesses.

They are also looking for any surveillance photos or video from the Fort and Moss areas that may have been active at the time of the attack – between 12 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 28th.
