Search and rescue is scouring Cortes Island, after a man in his early 20’s went missing Thursday.
Officials say Miles Meester fled his home Thursday evening after a “challenging family time” and has been missing since. They say he has mental health challenges.
Relatives say he is 20-years-old and was last seen near the co-op store in Mansons Landing, and was wearing dark clothing and had a beige blanket . He has a slim build and is five feet 11 inches tall.
Thirty searchers are on the Island from eight different Vancouver Island teams. Grid searches are being conducted, and RCMP dog teams are also being used.
Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Meester left on a ferry.
