Rebels playoff hopes doused in loss to Huskers

WATCH: There won’t be any BCFC playoffs in Langford this time around. The Rebels were eliminated from postseason contention with a 52-38 loss to the Valley Huskers at Westhills Stadium on Saturday night.

The Rebels defence simply wasn’t up to the task on this occasion, as Valley scored two kick return touchdowns in the game, and marched down the field on what felt like every possession they had in the game. The Rebels, who made it all the way to the National Championship game in 2016 and followed it up with a trip to the League final last year will sit on the sidelines this time around, and will hope to retool for another run next season.

The V.I. Raiders suffered a loss on the road to the Langley Rams this week, but they’ll qualify for the post-season, with one last game remaining against the Huskers in Nanaimo next weekend.

The Rebels meanwhile will wrap up their season on the road in Kelowna where they’ll take on the Okanagan Sun.
