West Shore RCMP have arrested two men for drug trafficking after a routine vehicle stop led to a “significant drug bust.”

In a police report issued on Friday, RCMP say the incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 8, when an officer was conducting routine patrols near the 800-block of Arncote Avenue in Langford.

At approximately 11:50 p.m., the officer said he observed a Ford Taurus driving in the area with a licence plate that appeared to be registered to a different vehicle.

The officer then pulled the vehicle over to investigate and claimed that while speaking with the two male occupants inside, he saw evidence of illicit drugs and alleged drug trafficking.

Upon further investigation, West Shore RCMP say the officer found nearly 10 ounces of narcotics suspected to be a combination of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl.

The drugs were seized along with hundreds of dollars in cash and drug packaging paraphernalia, police said.

Both men in the vehicle, a man who was a 31-years-old and another man who was 28, were arrested following the drug bust.

“The vehicle was found to be uninsured, the driver was ticketed and the vehicle towed,” said Staff Sergeant Raj Sandhu, Operations NCO at West Shore RCMP.

“This drug bust is a prime example of the proactive work our front line officers are doing to keep our community safe.”

Below are images of the drugs that were seized from the vehicle.
