Mounties in the Comox Valley are on the hunt for a Honda Civic from Nova Scotia and its occupant, who they say took an axe to multiple vehicles.

At around 10 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 26), Comox Valley RCMP say officers received two separate reports about a man damaging vehicles with an axe.

They say the suspect is associated with a blue 2013 Honda Civic with Nova Scotia licence plate number GTC 968.

One witness, Jim Tessman, says he watched the incident unfold within earshot.

“[He said] something like, ‘you want to f**k with me?….You want to f**k with me?’, all while holding up the axe,” said Tessman, describing the suspect and incident via email to CHEK News.

“I could see some wreckage and something leaking from the truck he hit,” added Tessman.

The suspect is described as a white man with brown hair and a brown beard and was last seen wearing a dark grey shirt.

“Investigators are currently working to locate the car and determine what motivated the occupant to cause the damage to other vehicles,” Const. Monika Terragni, media spokesperson with the Comox Valley RCMP, said in a press release.

Few other details were provided by police, including the locations of the alleged incidents.

However, Tessman says the incident occurred on 17th Street “near the lights” at Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay.

Anyone who locates the Nova Scotia-plated Honda Civic is urged not to approach the vehicle but to contact 911 immediately.
