RCMP investigating threats with possible firearm at a Courtenay business

Comox Valley RCMP are asking for help to identify a suspect brandishing what appeared to be a firearm Monday morning in Courtenay.

Mounties responded to a business in the 400-block of Ryan Road.

Police say the suspect allegedly entered the store and was asked to leave by an employee.

Comox Valley RCMP says the suspect left the store, but once outside, he allegedly threatened the employee and was seen holding what appeared to be a firearm.

RCMP released surveillance pictures of the suspect who is described as 50-to-60 years old, approximately 5’8″ tall with a slim-to-medium build, and tattoos on his hands.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or has information is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321.
