Firefighters were called to Quazar's Arcade for a fire that started outside the business on July 6, 2024.

Restoration crews are on-site at Quazar’s Arcade after a fire started outside the building and spread to one of the pillars at the entrance, Quazar’s said in an Instagram post.

Quazar’s announced on July 6 that it would be closed until further notice, then updated later in the day that it had suffered damage due to a fire.

“…there was a fire today in the building where Quazar’s and the Gamma Room are located,” the Instagram post says. “This fire appears to have been started on street level outside and spread to a pillar which flanks our entrance. It is our hope that this was an unintentional act.”

The post says that the pillar was smouldering, though it is unclear for how long, and the building was “completely filled with smoke when our morning staff arrived.”

Quazar’s says its games remain “almost completely intact” because the firefighters moved games away from the area before starting to spray water on the fire.

Though there were initially hopes that the business would reopen on Sunday, but updated in the morning that it would need to remain closed for at least one more day.

“We have sectioned off the affected areas, but have decided to remain closed today out of an abundance of caution. The safety of our staff and guest is our primary concern,” the follow up post said.

“We can’t wait to welcome you back when we are ready.”
