Police searching for man who assaulted girl on city bus

Victoria Police are asking residents for information about an assault that took place on a city bus in 2019.

The Victoria Police Department says an unknown man assaulted a girl on a BC Transit bus on Sept. 27, 2019 between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The incident took place on the number 15 bus and the girl was not hurt.

However, the department says a fellow passenger on board the bus is believed to have intervened, putting themselves between the suspect and the girl.

The department also says, for whatever reason, that the incident wasn’t reported to them until Jan. 30.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, witnessed the incident or has information about the incident is asked to contact the Victoria Police Department at 250-995-7654, extension 1.
