WATCH: A distrubing video has been posted online of a man restrained on the floor of a Port Alberni home. As Dean Stoltz explains, the people who did it claim the man was there to have sex with a 13-year-old teenage girl and they were forced to take matters into their own hands. RCMP say the man who is the subject of an ongoing child luring investigation was injured and restrained inside a Port Alberni home in an alleged act of vigilantism.

Police were called to a report of a disturbance at a home in the 3600-block of Bruce Street on Thursday at 12:23 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found an injured 28-year-old man secured with restraints. The man was released from his restraints and taken to hospital for treatment.

According to police, preliminary indications are that the man was restrained as “a result of vigilante actions.”

Police say the people involved in restraining the man could face charges of assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.

“Police want to stress that at no time should the public take the law into their own hands,” said Cpl. Amelia Hayden of the Port Alberni RCMP in a release.

“These are serious matters and the police are investigating and taking appropriate steps to address the original complaint filed in March. Vigilante actions like these are not only illegal and put people in danger, but they also have the potential to compromise the original ongoing investigation.”

One of the people involved in restraining the man alleges that he was there to meet her 13-year-old daughter. She posted a video on Facebook Thursday, which has been shared numerous times.

The video shows a man restrained with zip ties on the floor.

“He came to my house to meet my 13-year-old f****n’ daughter to f**k her. We f***n tackled him and zap-strapped him and called the police,” she said in the video.

“Because earlier today when I asked the police to come here for this meeting, they said no. What the f**ck? Why wouldn’t the police come  and help me catch this predator that just came to my f****n’ house?”

The video also shows RCMP officers entering the home and ask the residents to untie the man.

“You’re all being detained for assault right now, I’m sorry,” an officer said in the video.

“I’m arrested because we caught a predator that the police refused to catch,” the woman said to the camera before an officer asks her for her phone.

Police say the child luring investigation is ongoing.
