The Oak Bay Police Department is asking the public to report any suspicious activity on local beaches after they became aware of a man allegedly “surreptitiously filming” other people at Willows Beach.
“We’re concerned with his behavior and are investigating,” said the Oak Bay Police on Twitter.
It is unclear if the man was targetting any demographic, or how much footage he recorded.
“We don’t know the extent to which he filmed and who he may have filmed,” said the Oak Bay Police.
According to the tweet, the police have identified the adult male and are coordinating with Crown Counsel.
Officers are asking everyone to report any suspicious activity at the beach by calling the department’s non-emergency line at 250-592-2424.
