WACTH: Veronica Cooper takes a look at the weather for the next seven days on Vancouver Island
A strong low pressure system is crossing the south coast of BC tonight and into Sunday, bringing rain to all regions, but especially heavy on the north and west coast of the island.
Northern Vancouver Island will receive up to 10 millimeters overnight, and another 30 millimeters tomorrow, with up to 4 centimeters of snow expected inland.
Along with the rain, expect strong winds, 40 to 60 kilometers an hour, and up to 60 to 80 kilometers an hour over exposed coastal areas.
On the west coast, 10 to 15 millimeters overnight tonight, and heavy rain forecast tomorrow with another anywhere from 50 to 70 millimeters expected.
On the east coast, expect 15 to 25 millimeters of rain over the next 24 hours, with wet snow inland overnight tonight.
Southern Vancouver Island and Victoria will see rain beginning after midnight, and continuing through Sunday.
