Phillips Backyard Festival Series returns to downtown Victoria this summer

The Phillips Backyard Festival Series is set to take the stage for two weekends this summer, bringing music and craft beer enthusiasts to downtown Victoria.

Phillips Brewing and Malting Co. says the festival’s inaugural year in 2022 was “wildly successful,” prompting organizers to tap into music again and bring the festival back for two weekends — July 7-9 and August 11-13.

That’s when eventgoers will be able to sip a cold one and listen to music ranging from indie pop to rock-and-roll at Phillip’s outdoor stage, located in the brewery’s backyard off Government Street.

In July, “Tilt!” will kick off the series with DJ Pee Wee, also known as Anderson .Paak, headlining the weekend alongside Bahamas and Lord Huron. Neal Francis, Sudan Archives, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Fleece and more are also set to perform that weekend.

Then in August, “Reverb” will see Fleet Foxes perform alongside Peach Pit, Allen Stone and Victoria’s own Jesse Roper, who will headline the Friday night show with The Blue Stones, Crown Lands, Little Destroyer and Acres of Lions. Jon and Roy, Hollow Coves, Ruby Waters and others will also be a part of the festival’s second half.

“Bringing live music to the brewery is always exciting, it means we get to throw an awesome party with our incredible community,” said brewery founder Matt Phillips in a statement Tuesday.

Tickets go on sale online at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, with single-day passes starting at $80, July weekend passes available for $260, and August weekend passes for $235.

More information, including the festival’s complete lineup, is on the brewery’s website.
