Overnight shelters and warming centres will open in Nanaimo and Victoria due to another night of near-freezing weather.
Environment Canada is forecasting an overnight temperature of 0° with a chance of flurries in Nanaimo, and 1° with a chance of flurries in Victoria Monday evening.
As a result, overnight shelters and warming centres will be open.
Victoria
The shelter at St. John the Divine Church at 1611 Quadra Street will open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Victoria Cool Aid Society will have an overnight shelter at Rock Bay Landing at 535 Ellice Street from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Salvation Army Victoria at 525 Johnson Street will operate an overnight shelter from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Nanaimo
There will be a warming centre at the 7-10 Club Society, and Risebridge, and overnight shelters at the Unitarian Shelter, Salvation Army, Samaritan Place, and St. Peter’s Winter Shelter.
The 7-10 Club Society at St. Paul’s Anglican Church at 100 Chapel Street will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 and 31.
Risebridge at 520 Prideaux Street will be open on Jan. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Unitarian Shelter at 595 Townsite Road will have 27 overnight shelter beds and daytime warming services for the overnight shelter guests only.
Salvation Army at 19 Nicol Street has 35 overnight shelter beds for men and daytime access for shelter guests.
Samaritan Place at 702 Nicol Street has 19 beds open 24/7.
St. Peter’s Winter Shelter at 301 Machleary Street has 19 beds for women open from 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
