A spokesperson with the Victoria Police Department told CHEK News that officers responded to the 800-block of Broughton Street, near the Royal Theatre, just before 10 p.m. Saturday after a fight reportedly broke out.

VicPD says one person was arrested for assault and mischief and was later released pending investigation.

However, additional details about the incident such as the number of people involved, possible injuries or whether it took place at the Royal Theatre or nearby were not provided.

Multiple police vehicles including one unmarked unit were seen out front of the Royal Theatre at around the time of the incident.
