One person was airlifted to hospital Monday afternoon after a single-vehicle rollover near Parksville.
According to Errington Fire Department Chief Troy Bater, firefighters were called to the rollover just after 3 p.m.
Bater said the vehicle was going southbound on Highway 19 when witnesses saw it enter a ditch and spin around.
Firefighters were able to cut the roof off the vehicle to get the male driver, the lone occupant, out. The driver was conscious.
A B.C. air ambulance landed on the highway and paramedics picked up the patient. All lanes on the highway were closed for the helicopter landing and takeoff.
The northbound lanes have reopened and southbound is reopening to a single lane while RCMP investigate.
