Oak Bay Police arrest man wanted out of Prince George, B.C.

Police say a man who was wanted on a weapon charge in Prince George was arrested in Oak Bay last week.

On June 29, around 8:30 a.m., Oak Bay Police say they spotted a man biking without a helmet along the 1800-block of Beach Drive.

The officers stopped the man and learned he was wanted in Prince George for possession of a prohibited weapon.

After he was identified, police say they searched the man and found a range of weapons, including multiple knives, a baton, a replica firearm and plastic knuckles.

In addition to being wanted on a warrant out of Prince George, the man was also on conditional sentence order not to possess any weapons, according to Oak Bay Police.

The man, 37, was arrested and taken to Saanich Police cells to be held until his next court date.
