WATCH: Growing up in Brazil, sports has always been a part of Diego Maffia’s life.
In 2014, Diego and his family moved from Brazil to Canada, to give him a better education and post-secondary opportunities. Once he came to Oak Bay, he enrolled in as many sports as he could. taking on soccer, basketball and volleyball, all at the same time. Not only is Diego surviving, he is thriving. he’s led each of his three teams to Island Championships, including scoring the winning goal of the colonist cup earlier this month.
