Four workers were stuck waiting on a crane Tuesday while BC Hydro crews deactivated a damaged hydro line.
Assistant Deputy Chief Rob Heppell said at around 12:30 p.m., firefighters and police responded to a damaged hydro line at a condo construction site on Hill Rise Terrace in Cordova Bay.
Heppell said a haul line came off its rigging and stopped on top of a hydro line. No one was injured at the site and the workers were able to get off the crane on their own.
The hydro line was de-energized and repaired by BC Hydro in just over two hours.
BC Hydro said 979 customers were without power from about 1:40 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. while repairs were taking place.
This article has been corrected to say the crane was being broken down and did not break down.
