Mounties in Nanaimo are asking the public for help identifying two “heavy-set” men who attempted to break into a building recently.

According to the Nanaimo RCMP, two men attempted to break into the Nanaimo Harbour View Manor, located on Nicol Street, at around 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the two suspects in the building parking lot, according to RCMP.

The same two individuals were later seen trying to break open a locked door to the building.

Nanaimo RCMP say it is unknown whether the two managed to get into the building and if so, whether anything was stolen.

Both suspects are described as “heavy-set” Caucasian men wearing dark coloured clothing.

Anyone with information on their identities is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file 2021-6953.
