The Nanaimo RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a shoplifter who allegedly threaten a store employee at the Real Canadian Superstore.

The Nanaimo RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a shoplifter who allegedly threaten a store employee at the Real Canadian Superstore.

Police have released a photo of the man following an incident that took place at around 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

According to a police report, the suspect stole a blender, which is valued at $150.

Police say that when the suspect was confronted by an employee, he made threats of bodily harm before leaving the store.

Police received a report, attended and reviewed video surveillance.

The suspect can be seen walking out of the business with the blender tucked under his arm.

Police say that he was followed from a distance and observed leaving the Superstore area in a burgundy coloured Nissan Frontier pickup. Officers were unable to obtain the plate number.

The suspect is a man that stands at approximately 6 ft. and weighs 190 pounds.

He was wearing a grey jacket with a black hoodie underneath, a black baseball cap, jeans and a blue medical face mask.
