RCMP in Tofino and Ahousaht are asking the public’s help to locate a man from Hot Springs Cove.
Dan Kortes was last seen Jan. 4 and the next day, his friends went looking for him.
They located his dog at his cabin on Kortes’ trawler boat, but not Kortes, which started an investigation by Ahousaht RCMP.
The RCMP along with the Canadian Coast Guard searched the area, and shoreline searches have been done by Ahousaht and Hesquiat community members.
Police say will be transporting West Coast Ground Search and Rescue to the area.
Kortes is described as by RCMP as a 60-year-old Caucasian man with a slim build, grey hair and grey beard, who usually wears a black toque and was last seen wearing a dark green sweater and blue jeans.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Tofino or Ahousaht RCMP at 250-725-3242.
