A 51-year-old woman driving with a suspended licence had her vehicle impounded after she was caught running a stop sign in Oak Bay earlier this month, police say.
The incident happened on Oct. 18.
According to a press release issued by the Oak Bay Police Department, one of their officers pulled the woman over after they allegedly observed her vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign on Ring Road.
Police say after the officer pulled the woman over, it was learned that she was suspended from driving under the Motor Vehicle Act.
As a result, the woman’s vehicle was impounded for seven days. She was also given a $167 fine for failing to stop at a stop sign.
The 51-year-old woman, whose name was not disclosed in the press release, is scheduled to appear in court in December.
