Victoria can rest easy after authorities have located a python that was reported missing back on August 4.

Despite being reported on August 4, Victoria Police suggest the snake has been missing since July 2nd.

The ball python, which is said to be four feet and five inches long, went missing around the 200-block of Bay Street near the Galloping Goose Trail.

“They don’t travel far, fast, but over a month he could be literally anywhere,” said Haylo Walker, who works at Creatures Pet Store in Victoria, after the snake went missing earlier this month.

The ball python was spotted in the 1900-block of Richardson Street just before 6 p.m. on August 12. Patrol officers who responded to the call were able to locate the snake hiding under a vehicle.

According to Victoria Police, A patrol officer who is familiar with snakes was able to take the ball python into custody without incident.

Police added that the snake has been transported to a veterinary hospital for assessment, but appears to be in good health.
