Employees working at a popular shopping mall in Greater Victoria tested positive for the coronavirus.
Mayfair Shopping Centre says two employees working at the popular mall have tested positive for COVID-19. The mall, however, did not disclose whether the employees worked at stores within the mall or were direct employees of the shopping centre.
Laura Poland, general manager of Mayfair Shopping Centre, said in a statement to CHEK News that the employees are “no longer” at the mall.
“We have been informed that two people working at Mayfair Shopping Centre have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of concern for privacy, we cannot disclose any additional information about these individuals,” said Poland in an e-mailed statement
Poland says staff have been “diligently” disinfecting common areas throughout the shopping centre. She also says the health and safety of everyone is of the “utmost importance” and that the mall relies on everyone’s cooperation in order to maintain a safe environment.
“We rely on one and all’s cooperation and vigilance in order to maintain environments that are safe and healthy for all,” added Poland.
