Man suffers non-life-threatening injuries after grocery store robbery, assault

Victoria Police say a man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after trying to stop a robbery at a Victoria grocery store.

On June 16, officers were called to the 300-block of Menzies Street for a report that a man had been assaulted.

When officers arrived they found the man with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, who was transported to hospital by paramedics.

The man, who is an employee of the store, had tried to stop a robbery in process, after noticing a woman was leaving with unpaid items.

When he was trying to stop the woman, a man attacked the victim and assaulted him several times.

The two left together on foot with stolen items.

The first suspect is described as an approximately 40-year-old Caucasian woman standing five feet, six inches tall, with brown hair. She wore grey sweatpants and a dark sweatshirt.

The second suspect in this incident is described as an approximately 40-year-old Caucasian man standing six feet tall. He wore a black jacket, black hooded sweater, and blue jeans.
