Man reportedly throws lit cigarette into vehicle during road rage incident in downtown Victoria

VicPD said a man reportedly threw a cigarette at another driver in downtown Victoria on June 3, 2019.

Victoria police said they are looking for a suspect who reportedly tossed a lit cigarette into a vehicle on Monday afternoon.

Police said at around 4 p.m., they received a call about a road rage incident at Broughton and Blanshard streets. A driver reported that they had honked at a truck that had tailgated another car and ran a red light.

The driver of the truck then allegedly threw a lit cigarette into the victim’s open window. The victim suffered minor, non-life threatening burns. The child in the vehicle was not injured.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 50s with glasses. Police said would also like to speak to any witnesses who were in the area of Broughton and Blansard streets at around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon, especially anyone who saw a a black Nissan truck ,with “Pro-4” on the driver side (with the “4” in yellow), being driven in a reckless manner.
