After witnessing the apparent sale of drugs, Nanaimo RCMP arrested two people and then found a third hiding under suitcases and large bags.

On April 26, officers saw a Mitsubishi parked at the intersection of Victoria Road and Selby Street when they saw the passenger and driver do a “hand-to-hand” exchange of drugs and money.

The officers then arrested the driver and passenger and searched the vehicle. Inside they found the car was full of suitcases and large bags.

Underneath the suitcases and bags in the back seat, a man was hiding.

The hidden man was then arrested and removed.

Officers then found multiple swords, large knives, drug packaging supplies and an unspecified quantity of drugs that is suspected to be fentanyl.

The driver and passenger were released on scene without charges, but the hidden man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and remains in custody.
