RCMP say a man who was sought on a warrant related to a break and enter and sexual assault in Nanoose Bay has been arrested in Manitoba.

In August, Oceanside RCMP said a warrant was issued for 27-year-old Quinten Meyer, who had been arrested the day of the incident then released to appear in court on a later date.

At the time of the arrest, he was reported as a 29-year-old, then RCMP later learned he had provided false information about his identity.

RCMP say he was arrested in Steinbach, Manitoba on Oct. 20 and he remains in custody while arrangements are made to return him to B.C. to appear in court for the charges.

Meyer has been charged with break and enter, sexual assault, assault with a weapon and obstruction of a police officer.
